The Receptionist serves as the primary touchpoint for guests and is essential to creating a welcoming and seamless onboard experience. This role represents the cruise line’s commitment to exceptional hospitality by providing attentive service, clear communication, and effective problem resolution. The successful candidate will assist guests with inquiries, requests, and concerns while ensuring efficient coordination between onboard departments. Key Duties and Responsibilities Welcome guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner, both in person and via telephone. Manage guest check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring all documentation and protocols are properly completed. Offer clear and accurate information about onboard amenities, dining options, shore excursions, entertainment schedules, and company policies. Address guest questions, concerns, complaints, and special requests promptly, resolving issues when possible or referring them to the Guest Services Manager when appropriate. Work closely with departments such as housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage to support guest satisfaction. Maintain reception records, including guest logs, room keys or access cards, and reservation updates. Handle payments, guest accounts, and onboard charges in accordance with company procedures when required. Oversee the reception and lobby areas to ensure they remain clean, safe, and inviting. Protect guest privacy by adhering to confidentiality standards and professional ethics. Stay informed on emergency and safety procedures and provide assistance during incidents as instructed. Qualifications and Skills High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or tourism certification is an advantage. Prior experience in hospitality, hotel reception, or cruise operations is preferred. Strong spoken and written English skills; additional languages are a plus. Comfortable using computer systems, reservation software, and standard office equipment. Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong focus on guest service. Ability to manage multiple tasks, remain composed under pressure, and adapt in fast-paced environments. Professional appearance, grooming, and conduct with a positive and approachable attitude. Working Environment Full-time role aboard a cruise ship, requiring extended periods living and working at sea. Shift-based schedule, including nights, weekends, and public holidays. Uniform provided; compliance with grooming and appearance standards is mandatory. General Responsibilities Carry out all assigned receptionist duties efficiently and professionally.
