Emergency Physician

Job Description

The Emergency Physician provides urgent and critical care to passengers and crew in emergency situations onboard the cruise ship. This role is responsible for rapid assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute medical conditions, ensuring the highest standards of care in a maritime environment. The Emergency Physician works closely with the Chief Medical Officer and the onboard medical team. Key Responsibilities Assess, diagnose, and manage medical emergencies, including trauma, cardiac events, and severe illnesses Perform life-saving procedures and stabilize patients for onboard care or medical evacuation Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and nursing staff to coordinate care Maintain accurate medical records of emergency cases Ensure proper stocking and readiness of emergency medical equipment and medications Participate in emergency drills and simulations onboard Provide guidance and training to medical and non-medical staff on emergency protocols Communicate with shore-based medical facilities for consultations or evacuations Adhere to all international maritime health regulations and company medical policies
